After more than a decade of leadership, East to transition to board service in January
TYLER, Texas, 6/12/26. Mentoring Alliance, the Christ-centered ministry serving thousands of kids and families across Texas, announced today that Amie Reynolds has been named President. The appointment follows Kevin East’s decision to resign as President and CEO after more than a decade of faithful leadership.
East’s transition follows a season of sabbatical, prayer, reflection, and conversations with family, friends, and mentors. Under his leadership, God has grown Mentoring Alliance from a local youth-serving organization into a multi-city Christ-centered ministry serving thousands of kids and families across Tyler, Waco, Abilene, Longview, and Friendswood.
Beginning in January 2027, East will join Mentoring Alliance’s Board of Directors as Founder and board member.
” After more than a decade of pouring my life into this mission, I sensed this was the right time for both me and the ministry to enter a new season,” said East. “I am profoundly grateful for what God has done through Mentoring Alliance, and I am eager to continue supporting and championing this ministry as Founder and as a board member. Amie is the right leader for this season, and I am proud of the team and the work that lies ahead.”
Reynolds steps into the role of President with deep institutional knowledge of the organization, having served on Mentoring Alliance’s executive team for nearly three years and as Chief Operating Officer for the last two. She has been leading day-to-day operations alongside East and carries the full confidence of the board.
“Kevin’s faithfulness has shaped this organization in ways too many to count, and we are grateful for everything God has built through him,” said Reynolds. “I am honored to step into this role during a season of growth. God is at work, the team is ready, and we are excited about what’s ahead for the kids and families He has called us to serve.”
Thomas Neuhoff, Chair of the Mentoring Alliance Board of Directors, praised both leaders and affirmed the organization’s strength.
“We make this transition with a heart of gratitude,” said Neuhoff. “We are grateful for the tireless, faithful work Kevin poured into MA and the standard of excellence he put in place. And grateful for God’s provision in placing and preparing Amie and the leadership team for this moment. The future is bright.”
